This review is from: Golf Buddy Tour GPS Range Finder (Sports)
I read all the reviews and compared all the features of golf GPS’s before selecting the Golf Buddy Pro. I especially liked the feature that all the courses and course information were already loaded on the unit or available for free from the Golf Buddy website. And of course, that large color screen. When I received the unit, I immediately put it on the charger while I reviewed the User Manual…it’s pretty slim because the unit does most functions automatically. The next day I went golfing. Within 5 minutes, the unit initallized and indicated I was on the first hole of Highlands Reserve. The unit advanced automatically hole by hole without any user input from me. The GPS seems very accurate and the screen is exceptionally bright in all lighting conditions. I did notice that if your riding a cart, it takes a few seconds for the unit to stablize after stopping before giving an accurate distance. I am now using some of the more advanced features including adding and editing my own hazards, measuring distances hit, and keeping track of my scores. Ok, does it really help your game. The answer is yes!

GolfBuddy Gps Review
The Golf Buddy World Platinum is a slick, sleek product that has lots of promise. The large screen display was easy to read, even in bright sunlight.
My disappointment was in the form of technical service response (I left two messages in mid-Aug and have yet to receive a reply) and the actual number of courses with full hole layouts. The ads claim thousands of courses, my experience did not bear that out.My home course in Maryland was not a full hole layout so I had an expensive GPS that only gave me the features of a much less expensive GPS. Very few of the courses nearby were full hole and most of the Hilton Head Island courses were also not the full hole layout.
I returned the Golf Buddy and purchased a Garmin Approach G3. Not quite as sleek as the Golf Buddy BUT all the courses loaded are full hole layouts.
A true GPS unit with automatic course and hole recognition.
The Golf Buddy Pro comes preloaded with all available courses
in North America, and has a storage
capability of up to 20,000 courses for
adding more courses from all over the world.
The Golf Buddy features a dynamic green view that changes
the shape of the green, depending on your angle of approach.
Let’s take a look at all the Golf Buddy Pro features
* Golf rangefinder with true GPS capabilities and automatic course and hole recognition
* Comes preloaded with all available courses in North America
* Dynamic green view that changes the shape of the green, depending on your approach
* Monochrome screen; waterproof construction
* Rechargeable battery with AAA battery backup
Overall, for the price that they charge for this, you will not find a better rangefinder. Sure there are better ones out there, but you will pay a lot more for just a slight increase in capabilities.
Let me show you what a current owner had to say about it
I have been using this device for over a year now and I must say that I am thrilled with it.I play on a course near my home, that has over 450 holes of golf to play and enjoy. Every hole is available and very accuaretly gives the information, that every golfer needs,to make the right club selection.
